Some of our cats are not adoptable for one reason or another and are a part of our Guardian Angels scheme.
Have you relatives or friends who like cats but are unable to have one of their own? If you have, this scheme is just what they are looking for - buy them a part of a cat's life for a year! Makes a brilliant and unusual present!
Becoming a Guardian Angel of one cat costs £10 a year (this includes £5 for membership and our twice yearly newsletter), every extra cat costs an extra £5 per year. Apart from the membership and newsletter, the person nominated as the Guardian Angel will receive a letter and photo of their chosen cat(s) twice a year.
Guardian Angels are very welcome to visit their adopted cats, but please make arrangements first.
Please email us for more information.

Here are just some of the cats on the scheme:
SOLO has been with us for years. He came in as a newborn, having been found in a dustbin in Helensburgh after somebody heard him crying. Four littermates found with him died during the next few days.Solo was subsequently hand reared, then started to become dirty in the house, and is deemed unadoptable. He's a very sweet boy though! |
FLUFFY is a pretty wee thing who always looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights!. She came in a few years ago from people who found she was 'too wild'. She's a frightened little cat who we can't get near in spite of the fact she's lived in the house with us since she's been here. She always does a vanishing act when we have visitors! Unfortunately, the other cats pick up on her fearful demeanor and bully her if not kept in check. |
FUNNY FACE is a strange looking wee boy! He was one of 3 kittens who came from a nearby farm, all of whom were very frightened. The other two were rehomed together but Funny Face was destined not to be rehomed and lives in the house. He's a bit of a bully at times. |
SHU SHU has been here for many years. He came in with his sister, who he didn't get on with, and was terrified of men. His sister was rehomed very quickly, but Shu Shu was always ignored by those who came to look at the cats He's now a permanent resident who can go in and out when he wants. And he's no longer terrified of men! |
GEORGIE is a sweet little girl! She came here after being attacked in her home by dogs. We rehomed her once but she came back after being terrified of a dog barking outside the new house. She's now a permanent resident who can come and go as she pleases. |
TEDDY TIGER is head of the house! A number of medical problems have meant that he's a permanent resident - crystals in his bladder causing a blockage (a number of times), polyps in his ears which have led to a major ear operation, and, mainly, he has tested positive for feline AIDS. |
SPOGHAN is one of the sweetest cats we have. Found on a rubbish dump on Mull when she was around 5 weeks old, and fending for herself, she has never forgotten her beginnings and can't resist any bags which might contain food! She had severe cat 'flu' when she came in which has left her with her holding her head permanently on one side. |
